We’re going to explore the concept of umami and learn why this is essentially to creating tasty vegetable centric stir-fry dishes. Upon completing this workshop you will be able to confidently free-style delicious stir-fries with whatever ingredients you have around.

  • Introduction to Cooking with Principles and Eating Like A Bear

This workshop introduces the Eat Like A Bear workshops and the idea of cooking with principles of cooking rather than recipes. The aim is to help make everyday cooking easy, fun and intuitive using seasonal ingredients to create delicious plant-centric dishes; and (if you’re an omnivore) using less but better quality meat and diary for flavour rather than bulk.

The aim is also to offer a basic understanding of the wider ecological context of food choices and their impact on the planet - and how the health of the ecosystems on which we depend is intrinsically linked to our own health.

“It was a great success. A stimulating, thought provoking and fun session that reminded us all of the importance of healthy, sustainable cooking, and how to make it fun and efficient. We highly recommend it!”
